DNEVI FIZIKE 2007

DAYS OF PHYSICS 2007
There are only a few international events which are dedicated to the most talented students, who at the age of 16, 17 or 18 already show extraordinary capabilities for physics. Besides Physics Olympiads, which is a competitive gathering, there are also Days of physics. This international event took place in
Goals of the gathering:
• to promote physics
• to bring talented students together
• to initiate international team work
• to carry out advanced physics experiments
• to present science projects done by students
• to practice English language as the lingua franca of sciences
• to exchange views on current methods and perspectives of the
teaching of physics
Twenty-five students and five teachers gathered in Ljubljana in March 2007. The host teachers prepared 21 experiments and a booklet entitled A Guide to Experiments. Twelve teams of two, consisting of a Slovene student and a foreign student carried out the experiments which were not as complex as the experiments prepared for practical part of the Physics Olympiad, but they slightly surpass the A-level experiments that are used as a part of high school final physics exam in most European countries.
This activity is in accordance with the

We invite teachers, scientists and politicians to join this project in their suitable role. While teachers will send their high school students to these activities, participate as assistants during the experiments, we find the role of scientists in giving lectures to these students and presenting their scientific work. A financial support is expected by politicians who are committed to fulfill the main goals of
